The Summit’s success was then followed with the roll-out of coaching grants to 24 carefully selected NGOs, with all Summit attendees receiving additional curated leadership development resources on an ongoing basis.
To support the success of the initiative, 30 local volunteers received coach training and partnerships were formed with a number of leading local organizations.
Our Coach Team is made up of a diverse group of coaches drawn from eight different countries. The internationally based coaches provide 1:1 executive coaching to the leader of each of the selected NGOs.
Working together, the internationally based and the trained and accredited Ethiopian-based coaches provide team coaching to the NGO senior leadership teams.

A lawyer by training, Ahadu is currently the Managing Director and Senior Consultant at Center for African Leadership Development (CALD). He has 20 years’ leadership experience including as the managing director of CALD, country representative of a US consulting firm, Cherokee Consulting (now Verdant Consulting) as well as an Advisor to the African Knowledge Transfer Partnership (AKTP) for the British Council. Ahadu has provided leadership development support, training, and organizational development, legal and business consulting to more than a hundred organizations. He is also extensively involved in starting, developing and leading local NGOs in Ethiopia. Ahadu earned an MA in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University, USA. He also holds various coaching and leadership certificates, including accreditation from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), TOT on Leadership Essentials and Coaching Essentials from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), Consulting Skills from the Management Sciences for Health (MSH), and a Management Consulting Competency Certificate from the Ethiopian Management Institute.
Amakelech Lulu Tefera
“I believe coaching unleashes the potential within and makes everyone part of the solution to what happens around them and within themselves.” Amakelech Lulu is a Chief Expert Pharmacist who lives and works in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is the owner and general manager of Gishen Pharmacies and runs 13 branches with 135 employees. She holds a bachelors in Pharmacy from Addis Ababa University, School of Pharmacy, as well as certificates in continuing education programs on Communication Skills Development, Entrepreneurship, Business Communication, and Leadership Skills for Woman. Amakelech is currently Vice President of the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Association and an active member of the Association of Women in Boldness, a Female CEOs Breakfast Club. She served on the board of directors for the Addis Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association from 2016-2018 and is an active member of the Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association, which fights for justice for those women who can’t afford representation. In 2018, Amakelech joined the EthicalCoach team and received her coaching accreditation through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
Ayinalem T. Getaneh

Being part of this great initiative creates the best kind of feeling.” Ayinalem Tilahun Getaneh is a CIPD Level-7-qualified human resource manager and consultant serving multinational companies with 2,500+ staff. She holds an MSC in Human Resource Management from the University of Bradford (UK) and a BA in Economics from Haramaya University (Ethiopia). She received her coaching accreditation through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) in 2018. Ayni brings to the EthicalCoach team more than nine years’ experience from a busy, fast-paced work environment where she coaches and mentors colleagues. She specializes in change management, organizational culture, and human resource management.

Based in Addis Ababa, Bekri has over ten years of experience in meditation and facilitating self-development training and art therapy workshops for individuals and organizations. Bekri is certified and specialized for six years as an Enneagram Personality Coach and facilitated "Self-Mirroring” group workshops. In parallel, Bekri has eight years of experience as a physical therapist and wellness coach. Engaging with life in creative exploration, gaining knowledge and integrating it into daily life is the Bekri’s overarching aspiration. Currently, Bekri is a certified coach from European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and completed the RSI@Work program from CRR Global. He is also a creative writer, published poet and has held a solo digital art exhibition.
Ebba is a motivational speaker, relationship consultant and radio personality, with his own podcast channel. Ebba values transformation and sees it as not only his job, but his passion and mission in life. He focuses on the concept of “paying it forward” and exercises it often in emerging projects.
“Being part of EthicalCoach allows me to be one of history makers, playing a part in making the world a better place.” Fouzia Muhsin is a professional trainer and consultant with 14 years’ experience working with organizations such as the Ethiopian Management Institute delivering a variety of leadership and human development trainings at the national level for public service organizations. She holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and MS in Food Engineering from Addis Ababa University, as well as a Professional Competence Certificate from the Ethiopian Management Institute, and also brings 8 years of experience working as a project consultant in the food industry, where she specialized in production and quality control. She received her coaching accreditation through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) in 2018.

As the Deputy Regional Director for Africa for C40 Climate Leadership Group, Gifti Nadi works closely with the political and technical leadership of 12 African cities and their response to the impact of rapid urbanization and climate change. Gifti Nadi has 15 years’ experience in capacity building and communications including climate change, gender and health, environment and public policy. Fluent in Amharic, English and French, Gifti holds a Master’s degree in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland. She received her coaching certificate through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) in 2018.
“I joined Ethical Coach because, in the end, I want to look back and be able to say: ‘I really showed my light and did my best to contribute to this world.’ ” Karin Wilms holds two masters degrees (MSc Public Administration, MA Governance and Development) and has over 12 years of work experience in international cooperation. She has worked for multiple NGOs around the world and has lived in Africa for over 10 years (South Africa, Ghana, Mali, and Ethiopia). Currently Karin is working as an independent consultant in the field of organizational development, interim management, and coaching. Her clients consist of embassies, companies, and non-profit organizations. She received her coaching accreditation through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and finds joy in working with individuals and teams through life and leadership coaching. Through EthicalCoach, she is contributing to better-performing teams in developing organizations, leading to more positive impact and a better world.

Her experience in the management and consultancy sector includes work with youth empowerment, as well as with First Nation, homeless, immigrant, and refugee communities. Leah brings to the EthicalCoach team her strong coaching, training facilitation, and business development skills. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature/Letters and Middle Eastern and African Studies from the University of Alberta.

He is an accredited member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council at the practitioner level, and is currently studying for a BSc in Psychology at the Open University. Since joining RocheMartin, Matthew has been working with individuals and teams, coaching, teaching and facilitating on emotional intelligence. Rahel holds a program manager and senior faculty position at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) East Africa. Her experience in the leadership development sector includes work with NGOs, government bureaus, embassies, private companies, youth and communities. Rahel is completing an MA in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid. She has a BSc in Urban and Regional Planning. Rahel is a certified trainer by CCL® in facilitation for leadership development and Lead4Success and she received her coaching accreditation through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) in 2018.

Her coaching work focuses on cross-cultural coaching, supporting individuals and teams to capitalize on their personal and professional potential. Through a thought-provoking and creative process, Sara encourages individuals, executives, and teams to break through patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior that are holding back their individual and collective capacity and performance, and to move to action. Sara’s background is in the fields of international development and environmental conservation. She has lived and worked in Ethiopia since early 2014.

Wubet holds a Masters in Social Work, a BA in Sociology and Social Administration, an Institute of Leadership & Management certification in Executive Leadership and Coaching for Performance, and Executive and Team Coaching Certification from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). She brings to the EthicalCoach team a broad understanding of development programming and team management, human and institutional capacity development, and senior leadership challenges.

Yonas is an expert facilitator and designer with a successful track record in large-scale, complex projects, providing results that matter for clients such as World Vision International and the British Council’s Civil Society Support Program (CSSP). Yonas serves as a catalyst to help organizations create sustainable solutions for leadership development that are inclusive, accessible, and affordable. He has supported interventions across sectors with a special focus on non-profit, multi-stage leadership rollouts. Yonas is certified by CCL’s Leadership Beyond Boundaries initiative for the facilitation of Leadership Essentials, Facilitation Essentials, and Coaching Essentials, and he received his coaching accreditation through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) in 2018.

Pretty R. Mehta
"It's important for me to be a part of a community that I believe makes a big difference in people's lives by providing a safe space for them to achieve their full potential as incredible human beings." Pretty has more than 15 years of professional experience as a leader, project manager, consultant, trainer and facilitator, coach, counsellor and psychotherapist. Currently, Pretty works as a consultant in an NGO that organizes a gender-based violence survivor's hotline. Her responsibility includes coaching the hotline Coordinator and developing guidelines and manuals for the hotline service. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Masters Certificate as a Positive Psychotherapist. She has received certificates from various leadership and coaching training programs including RSI@Work from CRR Global, as well as her coaching certificate from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
