For the past 25 years Dr. Kauffman has taught at Harvard Medical School where she is an Assistant Professor and the Founder/Executive Director of the Institute of Coaching. In 2009 she received a $2,000,000 award from the Harnisch Foundation to create the Institute. As a leader with an entrepreneurial spirit she launched: The Institute of Coaching, Founded and co-chaired the Coaching in Leadership and Healthcare Conference at Harvard Medical School, the International Coaching Leadership Forum and the European School of Management and Technology Coaching Colloquia. She recently chaired the annual meeting of the Consulting Psychologist division of the American Psychological Association and the International Positive Psychology Association conference. Dr. Kauffman has published in many venues, and was the Founding Editor of the first academic peer-reviewed journal dedicated to coaching, Coaching: An International Journal of Theory, Research and Practice. Her Harvard Business Review article, What Coaches Can Do for You is their most frequently cited piece on coaching. Carol appears regularly in the media including New York Times, Forbes, LA Times, New York Magazine and is interviewed for local and national television and radio. She has coached live on television, radio and for a documentary film on positive psychology.
Professor David Clutterbuck is a mentor, coach and entrepreneur, as well as one of Europe’s most prolific and well-known management writers and thinkers. He has written more than 70 books and hundreds of articles on cutting edge management themes. In addition, David is a serial entrepreneur, having built and sold two consulting businesses. He now works with an international network of mentor trainers and researchers, Coaching and Mentoring International, supporting organisations in developing capability in coaching and mentoring. As Google’s head of Executive Coaching and Leadership, David coaches senior leaders, manages Google’s network of external and internal coaches, and supports leadership, learning, and executive development initiatives at Google. Before joining Google in 2011, David served as leader of world-wide coaching services for PDI Ninth House (now part of Korn Ferry). One of the most highly respected experts in the field of contemporary leadership development, Frances Hesselbein is the President and CEO of The Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute, founded as The Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management and renamed in 2012 to honor Hesselbein’s legacy and ongoing contributions. Mrs. Hesselbein was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States of America’s highest civilian honor, in 1998 for her leadership as CEO of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. from 1976–1990, as well as her service as “a pioneer for women, volunteerism, diversity and opportunity.” Her contributions were also recognized by the first President Bush, who appointed her to two Presidential Commissions on National and Community Service.
